The partnership between Veneziani Yachting and Istituto Nautico San Giorgio was born from a shared goal: preserving a valuable piece of nautical heritage while passing knowledge and expertise on to future generations.

At the heart of the project is Nina VI, a historic wooden sailing yacht designed by Philip Rhodes, built in 1960 by the Sangermani Shipyard in Lavagna, and winner of the prestigious Giraglia Regatta in 1961 and 1963. Donated to Istituto Nautico San Giorgio in 2014, Nina VI has become a unique educational project, giving students the opportunity to learn first-hand the importance of boat maintenance and the preservation of nautical heritage.

More than just a boat, Nina VI is a true hands-on learning environment.

Throughout the maintenance activities, students take an active role in the work carried out on the vessel, putting their knowledge into practice while gaining experience with the techniques, materials and processes involved in boat maintenance.

The most recent work focused on the hull, one of the most important stages in maintaining a wooden boat. With these activities now completed, Nina VI is ready to return to the water, while the next phase of the project will focus on deck maintenance.

As a project partner, Veneziani Yachting contributed to the hull maintenance by providing all the products used during the work.
